Coronavirus: Senegal records one death, 67 new cases

Dakar, Senegal, September 5 (Infosplusgabon) - Senegal on Saturday recorded one death linked to the coronavirus pandemic and 67 new cases,  the Ministry of Health and Social Action announced.

The death brought to 290 the number of patients who have succumbed to the coronavirus disease since it surfaced in Senegal on March 2.

The ministry also indicated that out of 1,313 tests carried out, 67 were positive for the coronavirus, 27 of them being contact cases  and 40 cases resulting from community transmission.

On the other hand, 128 patients tested negative and were discharged, according to the ministry which, however, reported 39 serious cases being taken care of in intensive care units.

To date, Senegal has recorded 13,948 positive cases including 9,851 cured, 290 deaths and 3,806 still under treatment.
