Two persons kidnapped in Burkinabè Sahel set free Saturday

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, September 5 (Infosplusgabon) - Two persons kidnapped last Friday in the Burkina Faso Sahel were released on Saturday, Infosplusgabon learned from local sources.

"Hassane Adams Tamboura, a retired prefect, and Boukari Dicko, kidnapped on August 28 on the Namsiguia-Djibo section, were released this Saturday by their kidnappers," said a trader from Djibo.

The same source pointed out that the ex-hostages were abandoned by their captors in a village about 30 km from Djibo town.

On August 11, on the same section, unidentified armed people kidnapped Djibo's grand Imam, whom they murdered on August 15.

Armed attacks and kidnappings are common in the Burkinabe Sahel and several other regions of Burkina Faso.
