Bamako, Mali, September 2 (Infosplusgabon) - A civilian was killed on Tuesday when a passenger bus came under fire from the Barkhane Force, leaving two people injured, the Malian national daily, l'Essor, reported, quoting a statement from the French staff.
Seriously wounded, the victim was transported to Gao, a large city in northern Mali, for treatment from the French Army, but he unfortunately died of his injuries.
According to a statement from the French staff, the incident occurred 50 kilometres from Gao.
France confirms "the death of a Malian civilian and two others wounded by French soldiers of the anti-Jihadist force Barkhane, during an incident involving a bus that refused to slow down despite warnings," the statement said.
