Coronavirus: Senegal records three new deaths on Wednesday

Dakar, Senegal, September 2 (Infosplusgabon) - After a 48-hour lull, Senegal has returned to the gruesome death toll of coronavirus victims with three new deaths, the Ministry of Health and Social Action announced on Wednesday during its daily briefing on the disease.

The new deaths bring to 287 the number of patients who have died since the appearance of the first case in the country on March 2.

The Ministry also reported that out of 1,187 tests performed, 88 returned positive from 42 follow-up on contact cases, 1 imported case and 45 cases from community transmission.

In addition, 22 patients were declared cured, according to the Ministry which nonetheless reported that 33 serious cases are still being managed in intensive care units.

To date, Senegal has recorded 13,743 positive cases, of which 9,506 have been cured, 287 deaths and 3,949 are still under treatment.
