Nouakchott, Mauritania, August 31 (Infosplusgabon) - Mauritanian authorities have extended to September 9, the closure of Nouakchott's OUMTOUNSY International Airport to international flights, as part of measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), according to a statement from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
The reopening of the Nouakchott airport, closed since the end of March, has already been postponed in the past.
A few flights with special authorizations were recorded during this period.
The first case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Mauritania was reported at the end of March 2020.
The country has a total of 7,022 positive cases, 159 deaths and 6,445 recoveries, according to official figures.
