Coronavirus: Rwanda's total cases jump to 4,020

Kigali, Rwanda, August 31 (Infosplusgabon) - The Rwandan Health Ministry said on Sunday that the total number of persons who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus across the nation is 4,020 with 177 cases detected over the last 24 hours.

The number of recoveries rose to 1,918, while the death toll remained at 16.

Of the new cases, 170 were local transmissions from the two closed markets in Kigali City while seven are suspected to imported cases since they were detected in two remote rural districts of Rusizi in the south-west and Rubavu in the north-west on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
