Coronavirus: Libya records 465 new infections

Tripoli, Libya, August 30 (Infosplusgabon) - Libya has recorded 465 new cases of coronavirus(COVID-19) infections from 2,241 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the National Center for Disease Control announced here Sunday.

It said the country also recorded 77 recoveries and one death.

In a statement, the Center said that among the 465 confirmed cases were 267 new infections and 198 cases of contacts with previous patients, bringing the total number of infections detected to 13,423 since the outbreak of the epidemic in the country last March.

The city of Tripoli recorded the highest infection rate in the last 24 hours with 241 positive cases.

Out of the 13,423 confirmed coronavirus infections in Libya, there are 11,781 active cases, 1,410 recoveries and 232 deaths.
