Coronavirus: Ghana records 87 new cases, as spread of virus slows down

Accra, Ghana, August 30 (Infosplusgabon) - Ghana has recorded 87 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the cumulative case count to 44,205.

Figures released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in recent days show that the spread of the disease has slowed down considerably, with daily count now in double digits instead of triple digits.

The latest figures on the GHS website on Sunday showed that the number of patients who have recovered stands at 42,777 while the number of active cases is 1,152.

The GHS said six new deaths were, however, confirmed, pushing the death toll to 276.

Ghana has so far conducted 442,185 COVID-19 tests since March when the disease was first detected in the country.
