Coronavirus: Benin has 2,095 cases

Cotonou, Benin, August 23 (Infosplusgabon) - Benin currently has 2,095 cases of COVID-19 infection, according to statistics published by the Ministry of Health.

From 2,063 recent cases, Benin has, as of August 17, 2095, cases of coronavirus infection with 1,705 people cured and 39 deaths.

According to the ministry, the cure rate is estimated at 81.9%, the national attack rate is 16.9 per 100,000, death 1.8% and the positive cases 2.9.

"Most of the deaths recorded in Benin are due either to late detection or to late treatment of patients who did not show symptoms quickly," the Beninese authorities deplore, recalling that a call and care centre has been in place since March to handle, at the national level, all requests related to the management of the pandemic.

The ministry continues to enlighten the public on the disease seven days a week and 24 hours a day, in French and in several national languages.
