Coronavirus: Senegal records four new related deaths

Dakar, Senegal, August 23 (Infosplusgabon) - Senegal recorded Saturday four new deaths related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing to 266 the number of people who have died from the disease, the ministry of Health and Social Action said during its daily press briefing here.

In addition, the ministry indicated that 161 out of 1,552 tests were positive to the coronavirus, representing 100 contact cases and 61 cases of community transmission.

On the other hand, 168 patients tested negative and were declared recovered, according to the ministry of Health, while 38 cases were treated in resuscitation centres.

Thus, to date, Senegal has 12,850 positive cases, 8,333 recoveries, 266 deaths and 4,250 still under treatment.
