Tunis, Tunisia, August 5 (Infosplusgabon) - The Tunisian presidency has expressed support for Lebanon following a huge explosion in Beirut that killed at least 100 people and injured more than 4,000 others on Tuesday.

President Kaïs Saied on Tuesday sent a message of condolence and support on his behalf and on behalf of Tunisians to the Lebanese people, expressing his wishes for recovery to those injured in the explosion.

He expressed Tunisia's support and solidarity with Lebanon on the tragedy.

A three-day national mourning has been declared by the Lebanese authorities.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun said the blast was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, used as a fertiliser in agriculture and as an explosive, stored unsafely in a warehouse in the port area of the capital.
