African, European local government leaders to meet in October

Cotonou, Benin, July 21 (Infosplusgabon) - The second "African Union/European Union" forum of local and regional government leaders will be held from 19 to 21 October, 2020, according to a press release from the "United Cities and Local Governments of Africa" (UCLG Africa).

 

The meeting will be held on the sidelines of the next African Union (AU)-European Union (EU) Summit of Heads of State and Government which will see the adoption of the global partnership between Europe and Africa.

 

United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa) is the continental organization that ensures the representation of local and regional authorities in Africa. Its main mission is to promote decentralization in Africa and strengthening the role of local and regional authorities in the development and integration of the African continent.

 

It brings together 48 national associations of local and regional authorities and more than 2,000 cities and local authorities that are direct members.

 

Through its members, UCLG Africa represents more than 350 million African citizens.
