Libyan Interior Minister, Turkish Defence Minister discuss joint cooperation

Tripoli, Libya, July 21 (Infosplusgabon) - Libya's Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bachagha, met on Monday with the Turkish Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar, during his visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in all areas.

The meeting focused on "the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries, and examined the prevailing conditions inside Libya," a statement from the Libyan Interior Ministry said, adding that "the two sides also discussed a number of issues of common interest".

 

In addition, the Libyan Interior Minister, Fathi Bachagha, participated in a tripartite meeting on Monday with Turkish Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar, and the Maltese Interior Minister, Boyeron Camilari, at the Turkish Defence Ministry's headquarters in Ankara.

 

Supporting the internationally-recognized GNA, Turkey is bound by a memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Libya on the delimitation of maritime zones and military and security cooperation.
