Niamey, Niger, July 20 (Infosplusgabon) - The Nigerien government says it will reopen its air space on 1 August, 2020, according to an official communiqué issued at the end of the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers in Niamey.
The reopening will be accompanied by a number of "useful provisions" upon arrival at the airport, including temperature control, the presentation of a negative COVID-19 bulletin less than 72 hours, the rapid COVID-19 test and nasopharyngeal swab to be taken as soon as the plane lands, and a proposal for self-containment with a precise address.
Persons arriving in Niger without a screening test must, at their own expense, be tested in Niger. In addition, all positive COVID-19 cases detected on arrival by air will be automatically taken to the care site.
For departures from the airport, passengers will present a negative COVID-19 certificate which is less than 72 hours old to facilitate the formalities at the destination.
Tests carried out for all departures from Niger will be subject to a charge.
