Tripoli, Libya, July 14 (Infosplusgabon) - The Libyan House of Representatives, the Parliamentary group which conducts its affairs in Tobruk (Eastern Libya), has invited the Egyptian armed forces to intervene in Libya, saying this is to protect Libyan and Egyptian national security, if they see an imminent threat to the security of our two countries".

A statement issued late on Monday stressed that "parliament is the only legitimate representative elected by the Libyan people and representative of its free will," and welcomes the content of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's speech in the presence of representatives of Libyan tribes.

It calls for "concerted efforts between Libya and Egypt, to ensure the defeat of the militias in Libya and the preservation of our common national security and the realization of security and stability in our country and the region".

The Libyan Parliament adds that "Egypt represents a strategic depth for Libya at all levels of security, economic and social sectors across in the face of the dangers resulting from what it called "the Turkish occupation of Libya".

It said the Turkish presence in Libya is "a direct threat to our country and neighbouring countries, including our supporter Egypt".

It said confronting the "invaders (Turkey)" guarantees the independence, sovereignty, unity and the wealth of Libya from the ambitions of the "colonial invaders".

The Libyan Parliament also affirms that "ensuring a fair distribution of the wealth of our people, and not altering the wealth of Libyans are a legitimate requirement of all the Libyan people".

PANA reports that Libya's parliament is split in two, one sitting in eastern Libya and the other in Tripoli.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in earlier statements that "any direct intervention by the Egyptian state now has international legitimacy and is ready to train and arm Libyan tribal youth to deal with outside interference."

He also added that he will not allow the Libyan conflict to cross the city of Sirte, which he sees as a red line, threatening that his forces will advance with the Libyan tribes.

Egypt, Hafter's ally, is implementing a plan presented by the President of the Libyan Parliament, Aguila Salah, to focus on a restructuring of the Presidential Council.

The GNA and Turkey rejected the plan, believing that it is a lee way to find an honourable exit for Haftar, after his defeat in Tripoli and western Libya.
