Kigali, Rwanda, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - The trial of Dr Isaac Munyakazi, the sacked former Rwandan minister of state in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, will open in first week of September when the Prosecution will be ready to begin presenting its case and witnesses before the judges, a judicial source revealed Tuesday.
Dr Munyakazi resigned in February over corruption scandal in which he is alleged to have taken a bribe of Rwf500,000 (about US$ 549) during the 2019 national exams.
The embattled politician, who also resigned from his position as second vice-chairperson of Ideal Democratic Party (PDI), is also being investigated for corruption-related offences.
His resignation comes after he was caught in a number of personal scandals and using his power to influence things in the ministry, exhibiting a conflict of interest.
