Coronavirus: 79 new infections recorded in Libya

Tripoli, Libya, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - A total of 79 cases of the coronavirus infections have been detected in Libya, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control announced on Monday, noting that one death and 26 new recoveries from the virus were also recorded.

In a statement issued Monday, the Centre said the infections included 43 new cases, 32 cases of contact with previous patients and four cases of return travel from abroad.

The centre said on Sunday it received 1,232 samples distributed among 711 samples from the community health reference laboratory in Tripoli, 42 samples from the Sebha branch laboratory, 222 samples from the Misrata branch laboratory, 65 samples from the Zaouia laboratory and 192 samples from the Benghazi medical centre laboratory.

In light of these results, the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Libya is 1,512 cases, including 1,105 active cases, 367 recoveries and 40 deaths.
