Tripoli, Libya, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, said his country, in cooperation with its partners, is calling for the resumption of oil production in Libya as soon as possible, stressing the importance of guarantees to prevent dwindling oil revenues from prolonging and fueling the Libyan conflict.

On Sunday, the Libyan National Petroleum Company (NOC) accused the United Arab Emirates of being behind the new shutdown of oil sites after resuming exports last Friday.

The Company said, in a statement, that it "explicitly condemns the closure of Libyan oil exports again and calls on the United Nations Security Council to hold countries responsible for this", stressing that it has been "forced to declare a case of force majeure on all oil exports from Libya in order to limit their contractual obligations."

In a tweet published on Monday, Gargash wrote: "We will continue political and diplomatic action to achieve a ceasefire and resume the political process".

The UAE, alongside Egypt and Russia, offer military, political and financial support to Haftar's forces.

On Wednesday, during the Security Council session on Libya, Gargash, stressed that "the ceasefire and the start of political dialogue are the only way to end militia control over large parts of the Libyan territory.

He continued: "We are very concerned about the threats to the security of the region due to the ongoing external interventions in Libya", stressing his country's support for the Egyptian initiative and the efforts of the Libyan neighbors to resume the political process for the crisis resolution.

Libya's permanent delegate to the Security Council, Tahar al-Sunni, said during a session on the situation in Libya that the government of national accord is now refusing the participation of the United Arab Emirates in any talks or initiatives on the country because of its support for Haftar and its complicity in the crimes committed against the Libyan people.
