GNA leader, Italian PM agree on the return of Italian companies to Libya

Tripoli, Libya, June 27  (Infosplusgabon) - The Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj agreed on Saturday with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in Rome, to form a Committee to monitor the return of Italian companies in order to resume their activities in Libya.

The agreement came during the visit by Al-Sarraj, according to a statement issued by the GNA, which added that the visit was part of "the consultation and coordination between the two friendly countries."

The two sides reaffirmed that "the solution to the Libyan crisis cannot be military" and urged "everyone to follow a political path which ensures stability, in accordance with the resolution of the Security Council and to the results of the Berlin Conference".

Besides the formation of a committee to follow up the return of Italian companies to  Libya, the meeting agreed that Italy continues its contribution to the demining process which started a few days ago.
