Tunis, Tunisia, June 24 (Infosplusgabon) - The French embassy in Tunisia on Tuesday delivered a fourth consignment of medical supplies to Tunisian authorities as part of its support to the fight against COVID-19 in the north African country.

In a statement released on Wednesday on its official Facebook page, the French Embassy said it had delivered heavy medical resuscitation equipment to Tunisia that could be used in the long term.

These are two artificial resuscitation respirators, worth 20,000 euros each, infrared thermometers, FFP2 masks, as well as several thousand pairs of protective gloves.

The aid will, according to the statemenbt, strengthen the capacity of the general directorate of military health in its fight against the Coronavirus through three hospitals and eight multidisciplinary consultation centres located in the various regions of the country.

The statement indicated that while all the equipment were acquired locally in the Tunisian market from Tunisian suppliers, a third artificial respirator coming in a couple of weeks will be donated by the French defense mission.
