Zambian Health Minister arrested for suspected corruption

Lusaka, Zambia,June 24 (Infosplusgabon) – Zambia’s Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya, has been arrested for alleged corrupt practices.

Dr. Chilufya, aged 47, has been charged with four counts of possession of property, reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Corporate Affairs Officer, Jonathan Siame, confirmed the arrest of the Minister at a press briefing in Lusaka on Wednesday.

Siame said Chilufya’s arrest follows investigations by the commission in relation to the allegations.

The Minister has since been released on bail and he is expected to appear in court on 9 July, 2020.
