Coronavirus: Togo now has 555 cases

Lomé, Togo, June 20 (Infosplusgabon)  -  Togo recorded eight new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 555, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene received in Lomé on Saturday.

These eight new cases involve people between 5 and 64 years old, according to the Covid-19 Response Coordination. They are five women and three men, all living in the interior of the country.

In addition to the new cases, eight new patients are reported to have been cured, bringing the total case to 361.

Some 181 patients are being treated, while a total of 13 have succumbed to the virus, with no deaths recorded in the past month.

The total number of people tested across the country since March, when the country's first case was detected, is 27,338.
