Tripoli, Libya, June 15 (Infosplusgabon) - The Interior Ministry of Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) has announced that it is investigating a video posted on social media showing a group of Egyptian workers detained and tortured at an unspecified location in Libya.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening, the ministry said it had instructed the Criminal Investigation Brigade and the Directorate General of Security Operations to investigate the alleged torture.

In the meantime, the ministry has denounced these alleged incident as a "criminal act that violates all local and international charters and laws".

It also stressed that such actions will not alter the close relations between the Egyptian and Libyan peoples and will only harm those who seek to use them for personal purposes and interests.

The Ministry has appealed to all those who could help identify or arrest the perpetrators, promising a financial reward of 20,000 dinars.

For his part, the spokesman of the General Command of the Libyan National Army based in the east, General Ahmed al-Mesmari, said that those who committed these acts did not represent Libya or the Libyans.

General al-Mismari asked the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to react to the video "as it had commented on the mass graves discovered in Tarhouna".
