COVID-19: Libya records nine infections, two deaths and three coronavirus recoveries

Tripoli, Libya, June 14 (Infosplusgabon) - Libya on Saturday recorded nine new coronavirus infections, two deaths and three cases of recovery, the National Centre for Disease Control announced, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country to 418.

 

 

Of the 418 cases of infection, 348 are still active, while the number of cured cases has reached 62 and deaths increased to eight.

 

In a press release issued on Sunday, the Centre for Disease Control said it had received 830 samples distributed as follows: 295 from the Tripoli Community Health Reference Laboratory, six from the Tripoli University Hospital Laboratory, 12 from the Tripoli Central Hospital Laboratory, 11 from  Misrata Branch Laboratory and 46 samples from Sebha National Centre Branch Laboratory.

 

The Centre also received 70 samples from the laboratory of the Benghazi Medical Centre, 312 samples from the laboratory of Al-kouweifiya hospital in Benghazi, four  from Zliten laboratory, 70 from the laboratory of the National Health Centre, and four samples from the laboratory of the Ghariane branch.

 

According to the statement, the results yielded 821 negative samples, nine positive infections, including three new cases and six cases of contact with patients.

 

The centre said that the negative samples included three cases of recovery, bringing the total of those who recovered to 62.
