Bujumbura, Burundi, June 13 (Infosplusgabon) - The Burundian president-elect, Evariste Ndayishimiye signed here Saturday the book of condolences opened for former head of state, Pierre Nkurunziza, who died on 8 June from heart attack, public radio reported here.

It was with a broken voice that the future Burundian head of state declared that what happened was the will of God.

The country's constitutional court Friday noted the final vacancy in power and authorized the inauguration of the newly-elected president "as soon as possible".

Officially, the retirement of the general was due to take place after his predecessor's term expired on August 20.

The date of President Nkurunziza's burial has not yet been officially announced.

The Burundian government has declared a seven-day national mourning which ends next Monday.

The national radio and television of Burundi have shelved all programs to broadcast only religious songs until the end of this national mourning.

Leisure places are also required to broadcast only religious songs during this period
