Coronavirus: Algeria records 105 new confirmed cases in 24 hours

Algiers, Algeria, June 12 (Infosplusgabon) - Algeria recorded, in the last 24 hours, 105 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), 180 recoveries and 9 deaths, the spokesman for the Scientific Committee to monitor the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, Djamel Fourar, announced Thursday in Algiers.

 

With these figures, the total number of confirmed cases amounts to 10,589, or 24 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 741 deaths, while the number of cured patients rose to 7,254, Fourar said during the daily press briefing devoted on COVID-19.

 

The new cases of deaths were recorded in the wilayas (provinces) of Sétif, Oum El Bouaghi, Tébessa, M'sila, Tiaret, Biskra, Sidi Bel Abbès, El Oued and Souk Ahras, he added, indicating that people aged 65 years and over represent 66 pc of the total deaths.

 

In addition, 29 wilayas have recorded rates below the national rate, while 10 others have recorded no new positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, Fourar said.
