Bamako, Mali, June 7 (Infosplusgabon) - Eighty-seven Malians, stranded in Kuwait due to the Coronavirus, returned home on Saturday, thanks to the Malian government which chartered a flight in collaboration with the Kuwaiti authorities, official sources said.
The returnees were received at the Modibo Kéita-Sénou International Airport in Bamako by the Minister of Malians Living Abroad, Amadou Koita.
As soon as they arrived in Bamako, the returnees underwent tests before being confined to a hotel. They will be there for two weeks.
The minister said during the reception ceremony that other Malians, stranded in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Mauritania, will be repatriated home in the coming days.
More than 900 Malians, who were stranded for the same reason in Tunisia, Morocco, the United States, France and the United Arab Emirates, have recently returned home.
