Abuja, Nigeria, June 1 (Infosplusgabon) – Nigeria’s major carrier, Air Peace, on Sunday evacuated 312 Indians, who were stranded in Nigeria following the closure of borders because of the coronavirus pandemic, back to their country.
On 28 May, Air Peace also evacuated 301 Chinese from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and flew back 268 stranded Nigerians from China on 30 May.
Mrs Oluwatoyin Olajide, the Chief Operating Officer of the airline, said in a statement in Lagos that alongside other relevant government agencies they ensured that all the passengers complied with established health protocols before boarding.
Meanwhile, chairman of Air Peace,Mr Allen Onyeama, in a separate statement, commended Israel, China and India for contracting the airline to evacuate their citizens due to COVID-19 pandemic.
