Burkina Faso: Former Defence Minister, Jean Claude Bouda, under arrest

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, May 28 (Infosplusgabon) - Burkina Faso's former Defence Minister, Jean-Claude Bouda, was arrested on Tuesday following a complaint by the National Anti-Corruption Network (REN-LAC), Infosplusgabon reported, quoting official sources.

Bouda is now detained at the Ouagadougou House of Arrest and Correction (MACO), according to judicial sources.

He is accused of embezzling funds intended for the fight against terrorism.

"I would like to inform the public that following a complaint from REN-LAC, I have put myself at the disposal of justice so that the truth is shown in cases concerning me," he wrote in the morning on Facebook.
