Tripoli, Libya, May 25 (Infosplusgabon) - Eleven members of the House of Representatives (Parliament) in Tobruk (East) have expressed support for the initiative of the Speaker of the Parliament, Aguila Saleh, to resolve the Libyan crisis, by restructuring the executive embodied by the Presidential Council, believing that it "carries, as a single bouquet, in its clauses radical solutions to the Libyan crisis".

On 23 April, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, announced an eight-point political initiative that includes the restructuring of the current executive power, the Presidential Council, resulting from the Political Agreement signed in Skhirat, Morocco, and the appointment of its members, who will come from Libya's three historic regions, "Cyrenaica, Tripoli and Fezzan" , and the rewriting of the Constitution, maintaining Parliament until new legislative elections are held.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the eleven parliamentarians called on "everyone to accept the initiative, without circumventing it, or try to empty it of its philosophy of selectivity that has spoiled all political regulations in Libya", welcoming the speech of Aguila Saleh  on the occasion of Eid El Fitr, in which he renewed the proposal of his initiative.

The list of MPs who signed the statement includes: Issam al-Jahani, Zied Adghim, Issa al-Areibi, Idris al-Maghribi, Saad al-Badri, al-Montasser al-Hassi, Youssef al-Agouri, Abdelmonem al-Arfi, Abdelmouttalib al-Barassi, Hamad al-Bandak al-Abidi and Faraj al-Safat al-Chalawi.

It should be noted that the Libyan Parliament is experiencing the split of those who are boycotting the work of the legislative body sitting in Tobruk (East), who met in Tripoli by choosing a Speaker and an office.

This support from the 11 Libyan MPs comes at a time when the political deadlock continues in Libya with a military escalation, which continued throughout Eid with shelling and ground fighting during the holiday between the Libyan army loyal to the Government of National Accord and the support forces and the Libyan National Army led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

On Saturday, the Speaker of Parliament, Aguila Saleh, renewed the call for the formation of a new Presidential Council and the formation of a National Government in which the three regions will be represented.

On 5 May, the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, welcomed all political initiatives calling for peaceful solutions to the Libyan crisis, away from the fighting and the imposition of the status quo by force of arms, calling on all parties and political forces to resume political dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations.
