Coronavirus: Senegal records 71 new cases, 40 recoveries

Dakar, Senegal, May 24 (Infosplusgabon) –  Senegal on Sunday recorded 71 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total count to 3,047, the Ministry of Health and Social Action said on Sunday in its daily briefing of the situation of the pandemic.

Out of 889 tests carried out, 71 were positive, made up of 66 contacts, one imported case and four cases from community transmission, according to the ministry.

In addition, 40 patients were declared cured after the tests on them were negative, bringing the total number to 1,456. Thirty-five patients have died, one patient has been evacuated and 1,555 are under treatment.
