Togo adds 9 new cases of coronavirus to reach 363 infections

Lomé, Togo, May 23 (Infosplusgabon) - Togo has registered 9 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 363, the Ministry of Health and Social Hygiene announced on Saturday.

It said 230 patients were still undergoing treatment, 121 were cured and 12 have died since the start of the pandemic on March 5.

To better understand the pandemic and provide a more effective response, health authorities are  planning massive tests across the country.

The tone was already set in prisons with more than 2,000 tests, after 19 positive cases were registered in the prison environment two weeks ago.
