Tunisian Faouzi Benzarti no longer coach of Libyan national football team

Tunis, Tunisia, May 23 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisian Faouzi Benzarti announced Friday the end of his service as coach of the Libyan football team, following the expiry of his six-month contract in April.

Affirming that he is now free from any engagement, Benzarti said he was not against  renewal of the contract if Libya wanted it.

Since taking charge of the Libyan selection in October 2019, Benzarti has only made two outings for the CAN 2021 qualifiers, collecting a 4-1 defeat against Tunisia and a 1-0 victory against Tanzania.

Two weeks ago, a member of the Libyan Football Federation, Younes Kazza, announced that the contract of Benzarti would not be extended, especially as total vagueness surrounds the international calendar and the Coronavirus pandemic which led to the postponement of international matches, including the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
