Tripoli, Libya, May  22 (Infosplusgabon) - The spokesperson for the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed al-Giblawi, has said that the government's objective is to extend its security control throughout Libya so that it can manage the political process with all parties believing in the establishment of a democratic civil state in Libya.

In a statement issued on Thursday, al-Giblawi said that "political and military leaders have decided to liberate all Libyan territory from (Marshal Khalifa) Haftar's mercenaries, putschists and terrorist militias", stressing that the GNA will not abandon the objectives of ending "the rebellion and coup".

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson also called on all states that support Haftar and his Libyan National Army (LNA) "to abandon their losing bets" on him and place their interests with the internationally-recognised GNA.

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on "our brothers" to join the state, whether in the eastern region or in the rest of the country in Libya, and to revoke the totalitarian and authoritarian military regime, as well as to help build a civil state that preserves its sovereignty, security and the safety of its neighbours.

Haftar's camp is losing momentum at the military level after several recent setbacks in the western region, causing it to lose the possibility of taking control of Tripoli, more than 15 months after its military offensive.
