14 Togolese, 10 Nigerians arrested for contravening Nigerian border closure

Abuja, Nigeria, May  22 (Infosplusgabon) – The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun Command, has said that it has arrested 14 Togolese and 10 Nigerians at Ajilete and Ilase border posts for contravening the closure of land borders.

 

 

 

The NIS Spokesman, Mr Sunday James, said in a statement on Thursday in Abuja that the arrests were made in line with Federal Government directives.

 

The Comptroller, Ogun State Command, Mr Kunle Osisanya, said that the 14 Togolese, comprising eight female adults and six minors, were arrested in a bus at Ajilete.

 

The 10 Nigerians were arrested at Ilase, with five of them being victims of human trafficking.

 

Osisanya said that the arrested persons were profiled accordingly by health officials in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) medical procedures and tested for coronavirus.
