Tunis, Tunisia, May 20 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisian Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh on Tuesday night praised his country's success in the rational management of coronavirus, noting that "Tunisia is among the first three countries in the world to have been able to control this pandemic, limiting its spread, as evidenced by the low rate of contamination".

According to him, these results were achieved mainly, "thanks to our own resources and our medical, paramedical and other health sector players".

The latest death toll released on Tuesday by The Tunisian Ministry of Health indicates a new death, bringing the number of victims of COVID-19 to 47 and a new case of contamination out of 869 laboratory tests carried out on the same day.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Tunisia has recorded 1,044 cases of infection, out of which 826 have recovered, while 171 are still carrying the virus and three hospitalised.
