The health agency said that of the 5,959 confirmed cases, 4,183 are active cases while 1,594 cases have been discharged.

NCDC also announced the inclusion of the 26th laboratory to the national COVID-19 Laboratory Network, the Accunalysis Diagnostic Centre in Anambra State.

It said for States that do not have a laboratory to test for the virus, samples are transported to the nearest State with such a laboratory.

The NCDC said it is working hard to ensure that there is a laboratory to test for COVID-19 in each State.
