Kigali, Rwanda, May 17 (Infosplusgabon) - Rwanda outlined Sunday last steps to phasing out the restrictions it imposed since March, this year, to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) which has infected 289 persons so far.

The new scenario developed by a national COVID-19 task force aims especially at advising decision makers on what activities will be allowed to open by the end of this week.

The move comes as the country has recorded its lowest number of new confirmed cases since the outbreak began.

There were 2 new coronavirus confirmed cases on Saturday, two days after the country reported no new cases of infection.

Rwanda has 289 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 118 cured.

Among other new measures during the phasing out of the lockdown in the next seven days include using technological solutions to support home-based quarantine and follow-ups, it said.

In addition, Rwandan health authorities are also looking to adjust proposed mass testing and daily testing numbers to the national testing capacity.
