Tunis, Tunisia, May 17 (Infosplusgabon) - The FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber has ordered Club Africain de Tunis to pay $140,000 to its former Ghanaian striker, Derrick Sasraku.

The Ghanaian striker had joined Club Africain in August 2018 on a contract that was due to end in 2021 but the Tunisian club prematurely terminated his contract in January after the player played 13 matches and scored just two goals.

Sasraku took the case to the International Football Tribunal, accusing Club Africain of illegally and unilaterally terminating his contract.

The general secretary of Club Africain, Sami Mkadmi, announced Saturday that the president of the club, Abdessalem Younsi, had paid the Ghanaian player the sum of 10,000 dollars to find an amicable solution in a "friendly" manner.

However, negotiations for reconciliation could not be pursued because of the player's return to Ghana, coinciding with the appearance of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Club Africain will appeal at the level of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which will automatically extend the period imposed on the club to pay its former striker.
