Coronavirus: Tunisia registers 2 new confirmed cases

Tunis, Tunisia, May 17  (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisia Saturday recorded two new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) following 1,916 laboratory tests, bringing the total number of infections to 1,037, the Ministry of Health said .

The ministry said in a statement that the number of cures had reached 807 cases and areas without cases of COVID-19 were seven, namely Nabeul, Zéghouan, Jendouba, Siliana, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, and Tozeur.

Samir Abdelmoumin, member of the Tunisian National Committee for the Fight against Coronavirus, said it was possible that replicas of the virus might be recorded in the country but ruled out the occurrence of a second wave of infections at present.
