Commemoration of Nakba: Tunisia reaffirms support for Palestine

Tunis Tunisia, May 16  (Infosplusgabon) - On the occasion of the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the Nakba, Tunisia on Friday affirmed its support for the Palestinian people for the restoration of their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state at the borders of 1967 with Al-Quds as capital."

In a statement made public on Friday by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tunisia said that "the commemoration of this day is also a renewed opportunity to call on the international community to confront with determination the attempts to enlarge the colonies in order to enable the valiant Palestinian people to realize their legitimate aspirations for the establishment of an independent and sovereign state."

Tunisia will spare no effort to continue to defend the Palestinian cause and support all sincere initiatives aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive settlement restoring the Palestinians in their rights and achieving the security and stability of all the peoples of the region," the statement indicated.

"The commemoration of this anniversary is an opportunity to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed themselves to defend the fair Palestinian cause and for the freedom of Palestine," said the text.
