Nairobi, Kenya, May 15 (Infosplusgabon) - Kenya's coronavirus tally rose to 781 on Friday as health authorities reported 23 new cases.
The Ministry of Health said 3 more patients had succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 45. There have also been 284 recovery cases so far.
Positive cases reported on Friday were identified from 2,100 samples tested since Thursday, according to Dr Rashid Aman, Chief Administrative Secretary at the Ministry of Health.
Eleven of the cases were from Nairobi, the capital, while five were in the port city of Mombasa.
Three are in Kajiado, two each from Kiambu and Wajir counties. Kajiado and Kiambu are in central Kenya while Wajir is in the northeast, bordering Somalia.
Meanwhile, Kenyans will know on Saturday if the nationwide night curfew will be extended or lifted
On April 25, President Uhuru Kenyatta extended the 7pm to 5am curfew for a further 21 days to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
