Cape Town, South Africa, May 13  (Infosplusgabon) – A cameraman with a national television station in South Africa died from Covid-19 disease in Cape Town on Wednesday morning.

Lungile Tom, who worked for eNCA, was admitted to hospital on Sunday with coronavirus symptoms.

“He was tested and admitted to an intensive care unit. Lungile’s test results confirmed that he had Covid-19, and he passed away,” the company’s Chief Operations Officer, Antonio Lee, confirmed.

Tom joined eNCA in 2013 as a camera operator and previously worked at CNBC Africa.

“Lungile was known for his larger than life personality and his dedication to his craft. His buoyant laughter will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his wife, Nandipha, and his children,” Lee said.

The television channel has disinfected and closed the affected floor and instituted a tracing and tracking process.
