Coronavirus: COVID-19 cases in Zambia rising

Lusaka, Zambia, May 9  (Infosplusgabon) – Zambia on Saturday recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases since the disease broke out, with 85 new cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the update given by the Ministry of Health on Saturday, the 85 new cases are from the 496 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

COVID-19 cases in Zambia now stand at 252, with 7 deaths, 112 discharges and 133 active number of cases.

From the latest number of coronavirus positive cases reported, 76 cases are from Nakonde, Zambia’s northern border town with Tanzania, affecting 26 truck drivers, 18 Tanzanians, 8 Zambians, 30 Immigration Officers and customs staff as well as clearing agents.
