Coronavirus: Tunisia records 4 new confirmed cases

Tunis, Tunisi, May 9  (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisia has recorded 4 new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the total number of infections recorded in the country to 1,030, the Tunisian Ministry of Health announced late on Friday evening.

The number of patients recovered is 638 against 45 deaths, bringing to 347 the remaining number of patients still carrying the deadly virus, the ministry said.

Asma Shiri, the Minister of Women, Family, Children and the Elderly, and the government spokesperson, said that five days after the start of the targeted de-confinement in Tunisia, the situation can be considered under control.

But, she added, it is not yet possible to move to the second stage of targeted de-confinement before making an assessment of the first stage, calling on populations to comply with the health measures enacted.
