Coronavirus: Algeria registers 4,474 Covid-19 cases

Algiers, Algeria, May 5  (Infosplusgabon) - Algeria has recorded 179 confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the number of infections in the country to 4,474, a spokesperson of the Scientific Committee for monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic, Djamel Fourar, announced on Sunday.

He said that 4 deaths were recorded at the weekend, bringing the total number to 463. The latest deaths were recorded in the wilayas of Blida, Algiers, Setif and Ouargla.

The number of confirmed cases are spread among the country's 48 wilayas, he added.

The number of recovered patients  has increased to 1,936, Mr. Fourar said.
