Conakry, Guinea, May 3 (Infosplusgabon) – Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) is expected to rule on the football league decision to end the national Leagues 1 and 2, sources who took part in the discussion on the issue told  Infosplusgabon on Sunday.

Guinea's professional football league (LGFP) halted national leagues due to the Covid-19 pandemic which, since 12 March, affected  more than 1,300 persons who tested positive. They are presently under treatment in the different health centres and there have been 7 deaths caused by the disease.

The Confederation of African football (CAF) recently asked all national football federations to send by Tuesday their  decision regarding the status of their respective championships.

On Friday, the Guinean football league, in an extraordinary meeting, decided that the championships which were suspended on 16 March, would not resume in the country in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

LGFP, which said that there will be no club promoted to the first division or relegated to the second division, decided to take into consideration the ranking for the first leg played in 13 matches.

The League 1 tournament had ended with day 14 matches, which represents the first day of the return phase.

According to the ranking for the first leg of League 1, the qualified for the next edition of the African Cups are teams that occupied the first three positions, particularly titleholder Horoya AC, SAG of Siguiri and Wakriya AC of Boké.
