Coronavirus: Morocco records 102 new confirmed cases; total now 4,423

Rabat, Morocco, May 1 (Infosplusgabon) - Morocco's ministry of health announced on Thursday that 102 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection have been confirmed bringing the total number to 4,423.

Mohamed El Youbi, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control at the Ministry of Health, said at the daily press briefing that the new cases were recorded mainly in the Marrakesh-Safi and Casablanca-Settat regions.

He said 56 new recoveries have been recorded during the period bringing the total number to 984, adding that this shows a recovery rate of 22.2 per cent.

The death toll has risen to 170 after the announcement of two new deaths, showing a mortality rate of 3.8 per cent.
