Coronavirus: Burkinabe Football Federation convenes emergency meeting on 2019-2020 season

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, May 1 (Infosplusgabon) - The Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF) has convened an emergency committee meeting for 4 May to decide the future of the 2019-2020 season as competitions have been stopped since the emergence of the coronavirus in March.

The Division One league was interrupted on day 24 of the competition with only six matches to play, while the Burkina Faso Cup stopped at the quarter-final stage.

The football authorities are uncertain about which team to nominate as representatives in African club campaigns, said the FBF in an information note.

It is the same for naming winners, promotions and demotions in other competitions organised by the FBF, such as women's football, football in the youth categories Divisions 2 and 3.

As a statutory body of the Burkinabe Football Federation responsible for dealing with all matters needing to be settled, the emergency committee meeting is being called to decide what to do.
