Coronavirus: Senegal records 51 new cases of coronavirus and 19 recoveries

Dakar, Senegal, April 30  (Infosplusgabon)  - Senegal has recorded 51 new cases and 19 patients recovered of coronavirus, the ministry of Health and Social Action announced on Thursday at its daily briefing on the epidemiological situation.

According to the ministry, of 1,161 tests conducted, 51 were positive, representing 40 contact cases being treated and 11 cases from community transmission.

On the other hand, 19 patients have tested negative and declared recovered, the Ministry said, adding that two serious cases are being treated in the resuscitation units at Fann University Hospital and Principal Hospital in Dakar.

Since the outbreak of the virus on 2 March, Senegal has 933 positive cases, comprising 334 recovered, 9 deaths, 1 evacuated and 589 still under treatment.
